Concept case study exploring a strategic rebrand and product direction for WeTransfer. Widely used for simple file transfers, the product experience doesn’t fully reflect its connection to creative culture. The challenge was to explore how the platform could evolve from a functional tool into a more expressive, professionally positioned product—without compromising its simplicity.
my approach
The approach focused on balancing brand expression with product clarity through a direction defined as Expressive Professionalism, prioritizing the core action of file transfer, introducing cultural signals with restraint, and reframing upgrades as a shift in professional capability. Key decisions across color, typography, layout, and product messaging were used to support this balance.
deliverables
The project included a homepage redesign that preserves the no-scroll experience, a refined upload interface, a visual system encompassing color and typography, and a restructured product messaging hierarchy.

A more focused product experience that prioritizes clarity, strengthens positioning, and introduces cultural context without compromising usability.
